Becoming giving

Ways to give to St. Matthew's UMC

Scrip Program - Buy gift cards at face value and the church gets a percentage back.   Scrip Program
Pop Can Tabs/Miscellaneous Aluminum  –  This is a fundraiser for our Music program. Please keep the tabs and other aluminum coming.  Bob Powell, (248) 477-4539, will even come and pick it up.
Kroger Community Rewards - Buy groceries at Kroger and earn money for St. Matthew's.
Once every year, all of us have to renew our Kroger Community Rewards Card … beginning APRIL 1, 2013.  Every time you shop at Kroger and swipe your Kroger card, Kroger rewards St. Matthew’s with a percentage of your total bill.  It costs you nothing but it helps the church earn some extra money.  In order for St. Matt’s to continue earning rewards for the May 1st 2016 to April 30st 2017 in this program, ALL MEMBERS (not organizations) MUST re-enroll at beginning April 1st 2013 (just follow the online instructions).   Any member who does not remember the email address they used - can call 1-877-KRO-PLUS. Kroger will remove any email address attached to the card and the customer can then go online to enroll again.  If you do not have a computer or need help, see Lynn Kerchen on Sunday mornings in Fellowship Hall.

 Participating  Opportunities

Cans & Coats for Cass – Please remember there is a wicker collection bin in the Narthex for can goods, men’s clothing, coats, hats & gloves. As you go shopping, pick up a few extra non-perishable food items for the homeless. Donations are delivered to Cass each week and are so appreciated!
Non-Food Pantry   In conjunction with Holy Cross Lutheran Church we are helping to stock a non-food pantry for Livonia residents.  Items in demand include: toilet paper, dish soap, paper towel, floor cleaner, Kleenex, shampoo, bleach, toothpaste, laundry soap, bar soap, dryer sheets. Pantry items can be brought to St. Matthew's and put in the hall across from the library.
The Methodist Children's Home Society - programs offer Residential Care: Provides an intensive residential treatment program for 70 boys ages 7 to 17. Each child receives individualized therapy targeting his special needs. Foster Care: Foster families receive on-going training and support. Adoption: Their adoption staff work to unite children who cannot return to their birth families with loving adoptive parents. Educational Empowerment: Summer School and After School Mentoring are offered for children who need help with reading, writing and math.  The need for monetary donations continue as abused and neglected children face increased needs for their services, especially during a time of high unemployment, record home foreclosures and financial stress. The recently introduced “Guardian Angel” program provides summer camp, sports equipment, and birthday and Christmas gifts. Please write “Guardian Angel” in the left-hand corner of your check if you would like your donation to go toward these services. Again, we thank you from the bottom of our heart for your on-going support.  Envelopes can be found on the table in the Narthex.
